Mostar is the city where I was born and where I spent most of my life. Despite all that, I still haven’t fully accepted it. Although we are not connected at first, he shaped me to a large extent into the person I am today.
I will not write to you about Mostar and its beauties and values. You will feel and recognise this first when you visit this Mediterranean pearl.
Too special, proud, and his own, he raises his residents in that manner. Its people are special and do not have a complex from other cultures, countries, and cities.

During the nineties of the last century, I was lucky enough to avoid most war events in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During the four years of my absence from Mostar, I felt for the first time that I missed the city. Besides my family, who stayed in the country during the war, I missed the light of the South the most. I missed the sky, the landscape, the stone, the river, and the proximity to the sea. I missed the sun and climate.

My upbringing was marked by the South. Not only Herzegovina but also the Norwegian south. So I concluded that people from the south have the same or very similar characteristics. Illuminated by the sun, they stand proud and do not let anyone in front of them. Closely tied to the climate and nature, with very few resources, they make a lot.
Life in Mostar during the year is variegated, and filled with noise and silence, closely related to weather conditions. Southerners are people who unwittingly become slaves to the weather. All plans and actions are the fruit of a favorable outcome in heaven.

The sun is the initiator of all good things, especially good mood. If rain threatens, you can forget about all agreements and activities, even if your plans include more people. Probably the very concept of existentialism is in the background because a man who lives in this kind of abundance can afford to postpone or postpone all the obligations he swore to complete.
Mostar is an environment that will make a gladiator out of every individual. Do not expect support from any type, and forget about compliments. Apart from the abundance and climate that follow you by birth, don’t expect anything else. For everything that still does not belong to you and that has other values and origins, you will have to fight. The ideas born in you are put to the ultimate test by the city and the people.
Mostar will make sure that, like the strictest guardian, what you are striving for and what you are working on will be followed. If the idea you are striving for is only a passing phase, he will try with all his might to destroy it. Until you prove to yourself and others that this is your true path, don’t expect any reactions, except ignorance.
Be grateful to him along the way. This is the only sign that you are on the right path, blessed by the universe and blessed by Mostar.
